Forget the runways in Milan. The real fashion trends are started – for better or worse - by the stars in Hollywood. These four nominees may have a lot of money, but their fashion sense is totally bankrupt. Katie Holmes earned her nomination for her failed attempt at reviving giant, rolled “boyfriend jeans.” Leave ‘em in Tom’s closet, kiddo! Brooke Hogan’s skanky style managed to look worse than her rocky year (filled with her parents’ divorce and brother’s jail stint). While we love her sun-kissed look, someone needs to wrest the clear stripper heels, skimpy hooker dressers, and brash makeup away from this girl. Hulk?
The Pussycat Dolls find horrendous fashion more addictive than catnip, and they’re Little Bo Peep meets dominatrix look has worn out its welcome. And finally, we have gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who makes a lucrative living ragging on celebs while looking like he stole a bunch of clothes from a sea of ravers and then got dressed in the dark. You know what they say – if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

Is it possible that a story can make you feel a) grossed out b) disbelieving and c) a little bit excited all at once? The answer is yes, when that story is that Tom Cruise and wifelet Katie Holmes are allegedly considering remaking the sexually-charged movie Last Tango in Paris together. Yes, the film that scarred anyone who watched it with that rear view of Marlon Brando’s middle-aged, er, rear is, according to Britain’s Now magazine, being lined up by Sir Scientology to boost Katie’s movie career. Regardless of the fact it’s possibly the worst idea ever.
“Anything sexy with a good story appeals. It’s also show the world that their marriage isn’t one of convenience. Tom’s looking for something that is cutting edge and sexy. He’s thinking along the lines of Basic Instinct — a movie that has a mainstream-style plot, but also some intense sex stuff,” a film source tells the mag.
Eeew. Intense sex stuff. Let’s just remind ourselves of the “success” rate of past movies where couples have decided to show the world their on-screen love: Gigli (Ben Affleck and J.Lo); Scooby Doo (Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr); and Shanghai Surprise (Madonna and Sean Penn). And is it possible that Tom’s already forgotten about Far and Away and Eyes Wide Shut?

It may be seven long years since Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise split up, but it’s never too late to spill the beans on what went on behind the scenes of one of Hollywood’s starriest pairings. And Nic obviously feels the time is right now - yay! In a very candid interview with Glamour magazine, Mrs Keith Urban takes the opportunity to explain how she felt she was expected to be only a pretty, silent accessory, while Tom was the real star.
‘’I felt I became a star only by association. I didn’t think [my early movies] were very good, which is why I would always cower in the background. I thought, I don’t deserve to be here. We would go to the Oscars and I would think, I’m here to support him. I felt it was my job to put on a beautiful dress and to be seen and not heard,’ she said.
Man, that almost sounds as if Tom could have been a little bit controlling in their marriage. That sounds very unusual, especially as his current wife Katie Holmes is a young, attractive up-and-coming-actress, whose early movies haven’t been all that good. Oh.

The reviews are in, and while Katie Holmes may have kinda sucked it in the opening performance of her show All My Sons, she sure as hell looked fierce when she left the theater! Let’s take a look at what the critics had to say about Mrs. Cruise’s work:
- Entertainment Weekly: “After a painfully awkward first scene, she relaxes a bit; she’s at her best opposite Wilson, who’s terrifically cast as Sons‘ moral compass.”
- The New York Times: “Ms. Holmes delivers most of her lines with meaningful asperity, italicizing every word.”
- USA Today: At best, she exhibits a girlish exuberance that could serve her well in certain stage roles, provided she finds a director who can ease her obvious self-consciousness and get her to focus on the often-intricate process of character development…Her initial poise begins to seem strained and her relentlessly energetic line readings strangely flat — even when she screams them out, as she does quite jarringly at one point.”
So basically, she’s bringin’ a Dawson’s Creek caliber performance to Broadway. That pretty much sums up the state of art in America today - but let’s look at some sexy pics and forget all about that serious stuff instead. After the performance, Katie sizzled in a white pants suit Aladdin-esque jumper-thing. If your play sucks, distract ‘em with fashion!

Mrs. Tom Cruise makes an appearance on the Oct. 21st episode of Eli Stone in a dream sequence where she performs an awkwardly sexy song and dance routine. Katie sings, “Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce,” while flipping her bob around. We at Scandalist preferred her in those pants.

At number 2, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is the top ranking Jolie-Pitt child to make Forbes' list.
Shiloh's sister Zahara is number 3.
Pax is the lowest ranking Jolie-Pitt child at number 4.

Sixth is David and Victoria Beckhams's breakdancing sensation Cruz Beckham.
Matilda Rose Ledger, daughter of Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger is 7.
David Banda, son of recently spilt Madonna and Guy Ritchie came in 8th.
Sean Preston Federline is number 9.
Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards' oldest daughter Sam brings up the caboose in Forbes' list of Hollywood's Hottest Tots.
