We can’t imagine Christina Aguilera taking advice from anyone (she clearly doesn’t even check properly with the mirror when she leaves the house these days), so we’re surprised to learn that she has a new Mommy Mentor in Nicole Richie.
“I didn’t know much about Nicole, but because our little ones are born one day apart and through mutual friends, I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know her. And I was blown away with how great of a mum she is. I actually ask her for advice because she has a lot of great things that she does for her little one. She’s even a little more stricter with battery operated toys and what not, she’s a great woman,” she told Fox News.

Two of America’s biggest divas (sorry Christina, but we still consider you an apprentice. One day!) Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey appeared on the UK’s most popular rival entertainment shows this weekend, Strictly Come Dancing and The X-Factor. Mariah made headlines for being off-pitch while singing “Hero” (see above), but who won the Diva-Off? Let’s find out.
Most Improbable Dress: After frightening wowing us with her cardboard robot look at the EMAs last week, Bey toned it down a bit for her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing wearing a modest black dress with stripe detail. Mariah returned to her tried and tested look on The X-Factor - “Drunk 18-year-old who thinks cheap lace up dresses are sexy,” but it’s still pretty conventional. However, this one goes to Beyonce for pulling it out the bag again later on at the World Music Awards and dressing like a pirate!
Amount of Attention Given On Show: Mariah takes this one easily. While Beyonce got to perform her latest song If I Were A Boy, while two dancers twirled around on the floor in front of her, Mariah got to “mentor” the X-Factor contestants, and have the whole show devoted to her songs. No contest on the “it’s all about me” front.
Biggest Hair: Beyonce did the very un-diva thing here and scraped hers back into a neat pony. Mariah let the curls take center stage. It’s 2-1 to Mimi!
Most Ridiculous Entourage and Demands: Mariah once again proves that she is an old hand at this. According to reports, she turned up six hours late, threw a strop about the size of her dressing room (well, this is England, FFS) and had “more staff than the Queen.”
A fairly conclusive win here for Miss Mariah, who trounces Beyonce 3-1. We’re impressed, Mimi, you make it all look so easy.
Well, almost. It was just a normal weeknight at London’s latest royal hangout, posh club Whiskey Mist, and Princes William and Harry were getting absolutely trashed performing their royal duties by helping stop the credit crunch. Probably. Anyhow, Christina Aguilera was also there with invisible husband Jordan Bratman, and in a snippet which says more about the cult of celebrity versus royalty than anything, Wills decided to introduce himself.
“But in the midst of all the fun, lonely Wills suddenly put down his glass and said: ‘Excuse me, ladies, I’m just going to say hi to Christina.’ We watched him puff out his chest and stride across the packed bar to the corner where the American singer was sitting with her hubby, Jordan Bratman. A red-faced William first had to convince her minder he was the real deal. We heard him whisper: ‘Er, hi. I’m Prince William, I just wanted to say hello.’ After a bit of wrangling, Christina, 27, gave the nod and Wills was in,” reports The Mirror.
Cringe! We are so embarrassed for the poor balding royal having to beg Christina to let him in her inner sanctum. But the night wasn’t over yet - Paris Hilton arrived and in her own inimitable style, waltzed up to the princes, announcing, “Don’t you love the Princes? They are so hot. I just had to say hi.” Another report has Paris doing anything to get the attention of Wills. “She started doing this really stupid dance, basically shaking her ass in front of Prince William,” says the London Paper.
We don’t know about you, but these A-listers at one of London’s most exclusive clubs sound like a bunch of 12-year-olds at a school disco. We just hope Harry’s gf Chelsy Davy (who we’ve got a soft spot for, not sure why) didn’t prostrate herself in front of Paris either. She could eat her for lunch. Good news! Christina Aguilera loves being a mother, and wants to have more babies. Neat! Unfortunately, her mama skills are a little whack. Instead of making it all about her kid, Christina has made her mothering all about - who else - herself.
“I think it’s important to share what I love – what makes me me – with my son. So. I change diapers and I breastfeed him and I play with him and then I work. I want to show Max everything about me.”

Nothing like a little Radiohead to put you in the mood. It was definitely date night at the art-rock group’s show at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA last night. In one of their first outings as a married couple, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi showed up hand in hand and were escorted by security to their seats, a source told Scandalist. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel also came to rock out as did a solo Balthazar Getty (girlfriend Sienna Miller is vacationing in Spain). Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman had parents’ night out, leaving baby Max at home. Xtina looked rocker chic in a long white t-shirt and fedora and her signature red lipstick.
