Bless you, internet. If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have known how Rosie O’Donnell reacted to Barbara Walters saying she should “get on with her life” yesterday morning until her interview with Conan O’Brien that night. But thanks to the information superhighway, Rosie had a vlog up by 5:00pm, complete with reaction shots, the Billy Elliott: The Musical photo taken last week, Eminem’s “Without Me” and a crack about Debbie Matenopolous. Harness that technology, Rosie!

Not that she was out of sarcasm by the time she hit Late Night. Here’s what she told Conan:

Apparently, “Lady,” she was talking about this lady, which it hurt her feelings. And truthfully, in spite of the fact that she now loathes me, I still do enjoy her. Yeah. I’m not sure I’m gonna be a guest on that show again because it didn’t go down well. But, you know, I tried my best. I told them when they hired me that I had never worked on a show before where I wasn’t the boss, and that there was a chance that might cause some problems.

Listen, I don’t want to dump on the show in order to benefit my own career, you know, to use it for publicity because I didn’t have a career before that show. So, I’m very thankful to The View for the help that it’s given me in my life. And I’m a big fan of the program and the producer.

Ignore her, Barbara! You’ve got your hands full with the co-hosts you’re working with now; Rosie’s out of your hands. Just smile politely and send her a bouquet when her variety show tanks.

First things first: congratulations Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz! The emo rockers are now proud parents to a baby boy, who was born late Thursday night. Their new bundle of joy weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces and is 20.5 inches long. Adorable! Now that that’s over, let’s get to the real news: They named their child Bronx Mowgli Wentz. Seriously. Time to get that newborn into therapy! Let’s break down their horrific name choice, shall we?

• Bronx: Last time we checked Ashlee was from Dallas and Pete Chicago, so neither singer has any real connection to NYC other than that they probably wished they lived here. But hey, if you want to name your kid after their birthplace of rap, then fine. Maybe they should have added Boogie Down to it?
• Mowgli: Holy sh*t. This is some character in The Jungle Book. If I were their baby I’d be learning to walk so I could run the eff out of there.

Well, it wasn’t a coincidence that saw Robert de Niro, Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, Ben Affleck, Lily Allen, Charlize Theron, Michael Jordan, Mischa Barton, Mary-Kate Olsen and Lindsay Lohan (plus SamRo, natch) all turn up in Dubai last night. They were all (plus lots more hangers-on) attending the launch of the $1.5 billion Atlantis resort on the man-made Palm Jumeirah island. If you’re feeling financially embarrassed by the credit squeeze at the moment, you might not want to know that the launch party cost $22 million, and celebrities enjoyed eating tons of lobster, smoked salmon, oysters and champagne, while watching Kylie Minogue perform a set in front of the world’s biggest fireworks display. Oh, and they were all flown out there for free, and got to stay in suites worth tens of thousands of dollars a night.

It’s just like buses — you wait for ages to hear of Michael Jackson and then two stories crop up at the same time. Just a few days after the news that the ever-less-likely King of Pop was being sued by a Bahrain prince, it’s emerged that Jacko’s converted to Islam — and changed his name to Mikaeel. Apparently, he was persuaded by songwriter David Wharnsby and producer Phillip Bubal while recording new tracks at their studio in the Hollywood Hills. Mmmkay.

“They began talking to him about their beliefs, and how they thought they had become better people after they converted. Michael soon began warming to the idea. An Imam was summoned from the mosque and Michael went through the shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief,” reports The Sun.

It seemed as if Anne Hathaway couldn’t do any worse than her last boyfriend, con-man Raffaello Follieri, but reports about her new man Adam Schulman are far from glowing. “Adam is known as an opportunist,” Page Six reports a source saying. “When he was at Brown, he went after all the heiresses. Move over, Karissa and Kristina. There’s another set of hot blond twins banging on the doors of the Playboy mansion — and these two come with cute British accents and no history of drinking people’s blood. Tonya and Rea French, who stopped by Scandalist to chat, hold the “distinct” honor of being the first-ever twins from the UK to become Playmates — albeit Playmates in Mexico. Now the two are setting their sights on Playboy in the U.S.

If Hef’s ex Holly Madison keeps her job as a photo editor at the magazine, the Essex Twins (as they’re known in England) may have a shot. “Holly e-mailed us and said that she loves our look,” the girls gushed. In addition Playboy, the pint-sized hotties have used their identical 25-22-31 proportions to land in magazines like Maxim and FHM. Now the two are trying to bolster their fledging TV career (or is it careers?), which includes an appearance on Test The Nation in the UK. Judging from this clip, the twins are naturals in front of the camera. Do we smell reality TV stars in the making?

Ida Cody of Polk County, Florida is suing her husband William for half of the $1.9 million he won in May ‘07 from the state lottery. According to Ida, she loaned her husband the $20 he used to buy the ticket. Here’s the catch: Ida and William have been separated since 1982.

Ida says that she and William have maintained a cordial, social relationship despite splitting up 26 years ago (they had married in 1974). Even after Ida had children with other men, she says the two remained friends…up until he refused to give her half of his lottery winnings like he’d promised.

William, unsurprisingly, says he never borrowed money for a lottery ticket from her (he allegedly has store credit), let alone promised he’d split the winnings. “No, I didn’t say that to Ida, to nobody,” he said in court. So is William being ungrateful for the support his sorta-wife has given him all these years, or is Ida trying to keep her ex from living a life of riches without her? You know, it’s not too late for them to send this case over to Judge Judy.

Granted, it hasn’t been an easy year for Lily Allen, but we wonder if she isn’t doing herself any favors with her approach to the art of seduction. When it comes to boys, Lily seems to think the only way she can get them is to lie, hop into their beds naked and pretend to be asleep. The British cutie, who’s got an album coming out shortly, told Nylon magazine the way she’s snared her last two boyfriends (music executive Seb Chew and Chemical Brothers‘ Ed Simon).

“I got really drunk and lied to [Chew]. I said, ‘I’ve lost my keys and I can’t wake my mom up, can I stay on your sofa?’ and he was like, ‘Yeah, OK.’ He went to go and brush his teeth, and I literally just took all my clothes off and jumped in his bed and pretended to be asleep…That’s also how I got together with Ed. That’s the only way I can ever get together with people!” the singer added. We find that a bit hard to believe, but we think the single Lily should attempt a different approach.
