Citizen Scandal: Toddler Unhurt By Three Story Fall
There are two thoughts one has when reading about a 19-month-old child survivng a thirty foot fall from a window without injury. One is “wow, what a lucky baby.” The other is “where the hell was his seriously f*cking lucky mother?”
Sara DeBeck of Brooksville, Maine heard her young son Aidan escape his playpen in a third floor room through a baby monitor, but she didn’t check on him until she heard a thump, followed by far away crying. Entering the room, she realized that her son had somehow fallen out the window. Looking out, she saw him get up and start walking to the other side of house. A neighbor called 911 and a helicopter took the mother and child to a hospital in Bangor. He was kept overnight, but was walking around and only seemed to suffer from mild soreness. “We don’t know what we’re going to do about sleeping yet,” said the mother, “but he’s not going to be in that room alone ever again. Not with the window open.” Glad to hear it. [Bangor News]
